Problem burning to CD-R

I need a little help, when I try to burn to a CD-R disk, I receive a (calibration area full) message and the burn process stops. When I use a CD-RW disk, the burner works fine. I've made sure that I'm not burning in multi-session. What other settings should I check?

It might just not like that particular type of CD, have you tried one from a different manufacturer?

the cd-r disks & cd-rw disks are from different manufactures
