Problem in "Entanglement" Level

I get to the part where Alyx is supposed to go to her security station and open doors for you, but she just stands at the door and stares at me, and when I get to the end of the hallway and into the room that looks like a prison cell, nothing happens and I can't go any farther.

Ok, first off, I did buy the game. I attatched a screen shot of the hallway and one of the room where Alyx is supposed to open the barred door.

Hmmm could be a simple AI hold up problem. Try reloading the game from an earlier save point in that chapter, that can sometimes help (a trigger may have been missed).

It would do no harm to also validate your HL2 .gcfs (game content files). To do so, do the following:

Go to your 'my games' window, right click HL2, go to properties then find the correct tab along the top. You are looking for a button which says 'validate integrity of game content files'. When you find this click it, and allow Steam to scan the HL2 files for any errors or problems. This is just a safety to prevent issues reoccuring. Good luck.
