Problem on Install

I'm running Windows 2000 with the latest service pack, drivers and so on and when i go to install Half-Life 2 it's fine up to the point where it mentions that DIRECTX dosen't need to be updated as i have the latest version installed. When i click NEXT to carry on the installation nothing happens. The HD or DVD-ROM light dosen't even flicker!

Tried re-starting, nothing.

What the hells going on!?

Odd! Got it working by de-selecting the installation of CS:Source, then it worked fine! WTF!?

Looks like i'm installing it separately then

I had the same problem. It turns out I was trying to install the game on a drive that did not have enough room for the install.

Once you selected not to install Counter-Strike Source, you apparently had enough room on the drive to install just HL2.
