Problem on steam website

whenever I try to log in with my steam account on the steam webpage(not steam itself) it dosen't work? is this a probem? or do I need to create a seperate account for the website? also, this wont be a problem when downloading steam onto my yet-to-be-brought PC while still using my current account will it?

Your account should work on both Steam and the Steam website- they are both exactly the same thing (Steam itself acts as a browser for the Steam website). You should have no problems if you can log into Steam itself.

Edit: strange . . . it worked just now??? bout' an hour ago it was'n working atall? anyway sorry for the waste of thread guys.

but i think you need another account for the forums, your normal one will not work there.
