Problem using Mic with Steam

Like the thread name says, everytime I enter a steam game it turns off my mic for some reason. I always have to Alt tab to my audio driver "SigmaTel Audio" and turn it back on. There was one rare occasion where it stayed on but i don know how that happened. Does anyone know any solutions?

i never said it happens once, i said there was one rare time when it stayed on but has never done that since.

How about reinstalling sound drivers?
