problem with 3dmark score

I recently purchased PNY 6800 GT video card. I installed it in my computer using PNY drivers and ran 3dmark2003. I got score of 10960 which is really good.
The problem is that I was never able to get that score again. Every time I ran it since then I get about 7000-8000. I did change drivers to new nvidia ones and yesterday I also upgraded to DX9.0c but I just cant get past 8000 anymore. I even overclocked my video card a little bit...
I wonder what could be the problem. Did I get too much on my first test or did I screw something up since then

I hear the latest nVidia drivers are crap. Try downgrading to an earlier version.

Also, 3DMark03 means squat, really. Are you noticing FPS drops in games, or JUST 3DMark 03?

well I know that 3dmark is just a test I just wonder why it dropped so much.
Games work just fine
