problem with blending textures...

when I try to blend textures, you know the blendable ones from like grass to dirt, well in hammer it blends nicely and looks great. Then I compile it and there is no blend, its just all solid dirt texture. What could I be doing wrong?

And one other thing, does source use r-speeds or can I go polygon crazy????
 
ummm, I'm not sure about the first question.

However, bind something to +showbudget to show what the engine is doing.
 
you need to do either a full vis or full rad compile for the alpha layer to show up in game, forgot which.

Yep, need to run RAD to see the alpha blend textures working correctly, wont appear otherwise.
