Problem With CS:S

I just got CS:S, but every time I connect to a server, the whole computer freezes. I have yet to get into a game. Also, sometimes the server's names are missing, except for a few random leters or numbers. I have a fairly new computer, what is the problem?

My comp specks are:
60GB hard drive
504MB Ram
DirectX 9c
128MB Intel Video Card

"new computer" dosent mean up to date
your intel card isnt really a graphics card but the game should open and play fine. also your intell card takes system ram for it to work and you said 504 ram so do you have 512 stick in there. anthor thing that could help is to go into your bios and change how much ram the graphic card will use

how do you change that?

when you boot up your computer you will see the logo of the maker of your computer/motherboard and there might be something that says 'setup' or something (depends on computer but it might be 'delete' or 'f2')
