Problem with CS Source install??/

Hi everyone, new to the forums. I just purchased cs source that includes half life 2 deathmatch and day of defeat. The problem i'm getting is that when I am told to put in disc 2 after reading it for a while I get an error saying,

"Error 1335. The cabinet file 'css2.cab' required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package."

Any kind of help will be appriciated.

okay so i've went to steam and download steam on it's own...but still after doing so i still get the same error message...would you guys think my copy of cs source cd are faulty?

Try putting in the CD-key into Steam manually. (link)

thanks for the input guys...well i've went back to walmart where i got cs source from and exchanged it. i've uninstalled steam and start to install the new cs i got so i'm waiting to see what goes on. i've just gotten the same message above when i have disc 2 in but i clicked on retry and it's going so i'll wait to see what happens.

well i've did exactly what you said beerdude26 and it seems to work. so why would you need to install four disc when you can just activate the cd key into steam?

applying the cd key on steam has nothing to do with the cds. it might just be your computer doesnt like the cd or has trouble with it. you can just dl it through steam so its no problem.
