Problem with installation

Hi, this is my first post, and not happy one. :angry: I am currently in the process of installing the game(started approx. 1 hr ago). And it get an error message everytime saying: "1305: Error reading from file C:/.....base source shared materials.gcf. Verify that the file exists and that you can accesss it." Does anyone have any idea what this means, and any remedy to it?

its all firmware on the cd/dvd even downgrading cd/dvd firmware may work it did for me.

I get this same error.. how do you downgrade the firmware? I am a newb...

i got the same error with my last hl2...i just got to the shop and exchanged it ant it worked ....may be you should do the same
