Problem with Outlook

I need some help with outlook. I am on a Network that does not let me connect to the servers i need to, mainly just pop3 servers. The connection just wont connect. I want to know if there is a way to change the ports that outlook uses, or where i can see what ports it uses. I can check my mail directly from the internet, but it is a very big hassle for me. Any help would be appreciated in getting it to connect. Thanks in advance.
