I'm running the newest Omega drivers for my Radeon card, and COD4/PunkBuster are all updated. I downloaded the drivers and ran them with ATI Tray Tools with no problems earlier this week, and now just today I constantly get this error whenever I am in a COD4 multiplayer server for more than ten seconds:

Player Soupstorm kicked:
Error: Unknown Windows API function [131133]

I have no idea what spawned this problem, but www.pbbans.com tells me to disable the ATI Tray Tools "overlay", whatever that is. So I exit it, close all the ATI-related processes in the Task Manager, and I still get the same error. So I reformat and reinstall the Omega drivers, again. Same error. So I uninstall the Tray Tools and restart. Now I get error code 131136.

API Kick 131136:

Known cause: Running BF2 in compatability mode
Solution: Disable compatabilty mode, do not run other programs in compatability mode at the same time.

I don't even have BF2 installed on my ****ing computer. :|

What the hell is wrong with my computer? I literally reformatted one hour ago!

Windows XP Home edition.

I restarted again and now I'm getting the Tray Tools error again. I really hate PunkBuster right now.

I got that error whenever I would run BF2 in Steam, with the Steam Community. If you're doing that, they may have updated punkbuster to stop it.

I have the Steam version of COD4.

I'll try loading the Catalyst drivers instead.

Alright, I uninstalled the Omega drivers and ATI Tray Tools, and replaced them with the newest Catalyst suite, and I got the same error again. For the time being I'm blaming this on COD's 1.2 patch.

My clan was having the same problem...here is a quote from my clan's forums:

I have stumbled on a fix for PB kicking us, while googling the topic.

C:\Program Files\Valve\SteamApps\common\call of duty 4\iw3mp.exe (multiplayer)

You can have Steam open... just don't start the game through it. Open COD through this directive. I did not get kicked the entire time I was on our server... 20 or so min. Put a shortcut on your desk top. It bypasses Steam all together.

I bought a hard copy of CoD4, so I dont have this problem...

Hmm. Not that I use it much, but that would bypass the Steam Community overlay, right?
