Problems leading to delay?

It could delay the CS:S unlockage.

The half-life 2 pre-load has already missed the date Gabe said it would pre-load. So i guess technically that's a delay.
 
I'm trying to get on Steam and I can't! *Cries*
 
That page hasn't been updated for an hour now, that was way before the outage happened.
 
This sucks you know. My Steam seems to have locked itself.

Anywho, it's asking for my password (Since I couldn't auto-startup-login) and it isn't connecting to the network. Which means I'm out of HL mods for a while :/

OMG, now when I try it says can't connect and I can't play either because APPARENTLY I said exit and log out last time so it can't get my name, what a crock. :S
 
Generally, my rule of thumb is don't belive Valve about anything 'till I see it. With or without a source-code theft, a YEAR delay is unreasonable. They couldn't have been close to completion. They probably said earlier than expected because it would generate hype.

My conspiracy theory for the day.
 
My Steam is working fine, I played CS just 5 minutes ago. But I dont think that it is a problem that is causing the delay, rather that they are nor finished with the game.
 
Yeah, I'm getting the 'logged out and exited - bad luck' message. Damn, I can't even go bot-blasting in CZ :/

Same here.
I just wanted to play HL, but it's impossible, because offline mode is not available. :(

hmm...maybe they're updating something REALLY big...
 
I think I broke it. I was entering my CD key for Hl2 and it froze up. I am now pre-loading and hogging all the bandwith. I am at 37%, so bare with me people. I am downloading at 1Mb/s.

CS Beta obviously. I mean he can't be the only guy who magically gets the HL2 pre-load, it wouldn't make any sense.
 
CSS, lets all be honest with ourselves, no one is magically going to get HL2 or anything else ahead of us.
 
No, no, no. I'm sorry if I led you to believe I was Pre-loading Hl2. I am pre-loading CS:S. I just put the key in, and I want to load it tonight before I go to bed.. 60% and it's 1:45 Am.

hmm...it looks like there was just a big quirk in steam for a while. Maybe they were doing something big to it...

*crosses fingers and hopes for a HL2 preload*
