Problems With ATI Drivers

Every since the 5.7 Catalyst release I've been getting problems. The problems range from annoying pausing in games such as HL2/CSS to application crashes as a result of a graphics error. This all ran fine before. I'm running the 5.9 version of the Omega drivers at the moment (the default ATI ones give me nothing but trouble). Problems still exist but it's more bareable.

Are other people getting problems with newer releases or is it just me? I have Radeon 9700 Pro. It's getting old but still good enough for what I need. I usually never update my drivers much but I thought I should after like 4-6 months using an older driver release. I thinking the only solution is to resort back to older driver.

I have the same problems. That is why I purchased a 7800GT.
What kind of card do you have? I have a 9800 PRO.

I have never had the problems before I upgraded to the Omega 5.9s. I used to run the 5.6s, I think. I was able to run DoDS with everything on high and everything up besides AA and AF and get perfect playable FPS. I haven't changed drivers since I knew I was purchasing a card very soon.

Guess I'll have to go back to earlier driver. :|

Starting to make me think whether I should get a nVidia card next time. Their drivers atleast work properly.
