Problems with water :-/

Okay, I make water the way I'm supposed to. I do have a dx9 videocard, though making an env_cubemap doesn't do any good either. The water is water, it looks right from below the surface. Help anyone?

EDIT: Doesn't help with cheap water either :-/

The water looks fine when i'm swimming about underneath but get exact same problem as in your picture when i'm above the surface.
 
first off, from your pic it looks like your water is going through the bottom of your brush and causing a major leak as you can see there is no skybrush and it blurs. you need to seal off that leak.
 
yup make sure the displacemnt brushs bottom is totally covering all water. water needs to be inside a map, or atleast inside the whole displacment brush
 
It defeneatly is. The room with the water inside is made by hollowing..
 
and only the top face of the brush has the water texture?
 
i usally see this when the bottom of the water brush (with the nodraw texture) is hanging out the bottom of the displacment brush.

check again to see if the bottom brush covers the whole water brush.

also make sure its got the nodraw tex on all 5 sides besides the top
 
Yes, I'm very sure on both, I just made i new square room, tried to ad water, same effect.

Btw, do you have to render with VIS/RAD to get it right? :-/ Haven't done any mapping since Worldcraft/UnrealEd, I'm outdated..

displacement doesn't seal a map
 
This is the exact same problem i am having in my map. Does anyone know if you are/aren't allowed to have the water texture outside the map, and if so, will the brush look hideous if it is cut in one place?
