Ok guys, this is my problem,

Just installing a Western Digital 2500 in to my dads computer (250gb) and even the windows setup will only detect it as 120gb. I have updated the BIOS, cos i know that the older bios's wont work with newer drives.

The computer is running an Asus P4PE, just incase any of you know of a known issuse.

Thanks! :borg:

Does the BIOS and Windows detect it as a 120GB? I know that Service Pack 1 fixed an issue with the max HD size being maxed out around 120.

thats a good point, didnt think of it that way. I think it did say 250gb in the BIOS, thats why i couldnt get me head around it. Nice one, was just gonna install SP2 anyways, wil check now!

bugger me. Aint working. gonna try and format it again through windows on the other drive to see if it does it then. Cos its detecting as 250gb in the bios so..meh!

Thaks for help!

If nothing works, go to dos type fdisk, delete partion C. Then readd it via dos, it will ask % of space to use. Put 100%, and it will readd the harddrive into DOS memory, add windows on, update to SP2, Vollia!
I think....
