PRT file not found

I've been working on a HL2 map, and after it got to a certain size, i compiled without vis or rad. now, i want to see my map on full compile, but it said the prt file is gone. i looked and it seemed to have vanished. I used to use full compile when my map was small. My map is 1 giant lake, which i increase ive doubled in length from the beginning. How can i get the prt file back? could it be because the map is too open?
