Hey... Im new here, so hi people...

But anyways, I came to ask about my gun I made in Photoshop. I like it, but it just doesnt really seem like its done. I cant think of anything else to do on it though, so I wanted to ask you guys what I could work on, or add, etc... and of course, if you like it...
My gun:

And yes, I did make it up, its not a real gun. But I did kind of base it off of the H&K MP5 or the H&K 53... maybe a little M4A1 and Galil in there too :P.

1 word: Abomination

I dunno, its not too bad but it's horribly disproportionate.
Good photoshop work though, nice texturing.

Btw, welcome to the forums,

I think I know what you mean, but could you be a bit more specific?

Oh, and its my first ever 'real' thing ive made in PS like that... Ive made other stuff, but it wasnt really like that, or it wasnt a gun to say the least... just me playing around with stuff...

And does anyone know where the circle selection tool is in Photoshop 5.5? I know I should get PS7 but I dont feel like paying for it..

Right, looking at the magazine i presume this design would be in 9x19 or simmilar calibre, the rear of the reciever is too small really, it's kinda like a shotgun in a way like that.

Anyway, who am i to say what its aesthetics should be like, some modern russian guns looks very odd.

for a sub machine gun role its good is the foregrip comes level with the top of the trigger, mabye slightly lower......its all about the way it is effectively aimed and fired.

(sorry i get carried away with gun design)

Ya, I see what you mean... mostly...

But the only reason the clip is like that is because I dont know how to make curved selections in Photoshop and I had made the frame to small, so I couldnt make it any longer, without flattening the image, which i didnt want to do, or moving all the frames one by one, but that migh mess up the overall look, incase i didnt put all the pieces back in the right spot...

Ummm... safty means... "oops" :P...

Lol, thanks for pointing that out... kinda...

And for some reason, SAFTY looks fine, but safty looks wrong :/...

I think you should work on the shapes before texturing. The foregrip should be one piece only, not two. I'd get the general shape on the bottom layer and then create new layers for each shape. All the detail such as scratches, nicks, etc. would be done on a single layer, to keep it consistent. The texturing looks nice, but the shapes look odd.
Good job, though.

Ya, but thats not really the way I do things... I basically started with the flash hider, as a test, then just kinda worked my way over through the barrel, front grip, body, stock, etc... and I added all the detail as I was going. Thats just the way I like to do things. And it was mostly a test on my texturing, just to see how well I could do it, since Ive never really textured anything before and the gun was just something to put it on. But thanks all...

it looks like a mp5 with ak47 short stock, with a famas loader...

oh and it has a shotgun grip, to make it better use a universal pistol grip , get rid of the release trigger and famas loader , change the stock to an extended mp5k folding stock
