Ps2 controller problem

Ok peeps, the problem is with my friends PS2. It's fine we can play tekken 5 and other games execpt some. Another problem is that we can only use the 2nd controller slot. The games that only work are Tekken 5 and Tekken Tag Tornament. I would like some help, thanks.

I think this should be in general gaming...Have you tried using compressed air to blow into the slot, maybe there is too much dusties.
