The new Star Ocean game, Star Ocean 4:First Departure (ironic title) is now announced for PS3 AND XBOX 360.

For Square to start using the 360 is likea slap in Sony's face.

I remember when Square dumped Nintendo in favor of Sony way back in the day. Square is a two-timing whore. lol'

Star Ocean 4 ... I might buy a console to play that. So far, I'm fine with my PC, and don't feel like I'm missing out on anything. Let's see how it turns out. I was really impressed with the old SNES Star Ocean games. The best graphics and sound I'd ever witnessed on the SNES. cool stat fiddling too..

As a PS3 owner I wasn't even aware of this games existence ... was it ever even an exclusive in the first place?

If you want to make money, you can't afford not to go multiplatform (unless your exclusivity deal is equal to or greater than expected revenue from the title in question). I have all 3 consoles specifically for the exculsives that they offer. These exclusives are becoming almost all first party titles only. This should not come as a huge surprise to anyone.

God damn all I want is LBP! Is that too much to ask? :(

They can keep their stinkin' MGS4...

Star Ocean = RPG, I believe. I think it was like what Square does when it isn't milking Final Fantasy.

I'm with Iced_Eagle on this one ... all I want is LBP! All other sony exclusives are over-hyped under-performing pieces of tosh.

And that includes Gran Turismo. (I may change my mind when they finally release it).

Star what? pfft i was hoping it would be mgs4, fat chance of that though ;(

This is a game that is more popular in Japan, and I don't see japanese people buying 360's for this game, not in a country where a gameboy still outsells the 360.
This "exclusive game developing" is crap anyways, as a PS3 owner I don't give a rat-ass if the 360 gets MGS4 or a Final Fantasy game, in fact I'll hope 360 get those game and more people can enjoy them as long as I can still play them on my PS3 I don't see the problem of games going multiplatform, I'd also like to play some 360's exclusive on my PS3 like Mass Effect, that game really looks interesting, maybe now that Bioware belongs to EA, EA will "press the Multiplatform button", who nows...

As Peter Dille said: "From our perspective, as long as the games aren't going exclusive to other platforms, PS3 gamers are not actually losing anything."

You are right. This game is like Halo for Japan - because it wasn't released in the US until the PSX came along.

It (Star Ocean [1]) was basically much like the Secret of Mana / Legend of Mana or those type of games, and those games sold really well world-wide.

If they don't change it, Star Ocean is basically an RPG where you actually move your character around and score hits on the enemy.

Who knows how it will materialize on todays hardware. I'm sure it will be shit your pants impressive, I mean, square is king of the RPG's and all.

I'm kinda Hyped because I thought Square was a cookie cutter sweat shop money whore company with one talent. I was mistaken. They have more than one talent.

They should just release it for the PC too so I will definitely get it.

Exclusives are nonsense. Games for everyone, peace and joy to the world, and all the stuff... :-)

I'll get the PS3 likely next Christmas. :\
I'm not a fan of JRPG's. Final Fantasy was just meh to me. 10 was okay.
