Punch-Out Wii!

Yeah, saw the trailer earlier. Graphics are pretty awesome.

I only wonder if it's deep enough to warrant a full purchase. Punch Out! was good for its time but now there are internet flash games with more depth.

I have quite a suspicion that this game will stink, although I do have something against the Wii. (I'd rather play a 6/10 Xbox 360 game than a 9/10 wii game.)

Yeah but you now can punch out the person next to you or your tv set with the Wii remote!

Um... what.

So you'd rather play an average game with some technical faults than a really good game on a console you dislike?

For example I hate the PSP, but I'd rather play GTA:VCS than some shitty platformer on the DS any day.

I'd rather watch The View on my TV than Lost on my computer!

My point is that no matter how many more buttons the PS 3 or Xbox have, the Wiis controls are more complicated, and torture me.

You're doing it wrong? I find, mostly, that Wii controls are far more intuitive than anything on a console, in some cases, more intuitive than on a PC.

Well...maybe my problem with the wii is their games. Mad World was good, but I'm actually surpirsed it was for wii. They specifically said they don't want gamers to be their main audience. So they made wii music. Evil evil wii music. Xbox has all the right kind of games, even if some of their games are differing in quality.

Edit: I used to have a wii, but didn't like it and gave it to a girl. No regrets, I love my 360.

Source?

Nintendo claim they cater for both casual gamers and the hardcore crowd. I admit they're doing a poor job of living up to the latter at the moment, but they have definitely never said they are shifting their target markets.

Despite Nintendo themselves doing nothing to endear them to me at the moment, the Wii itself is still attracting some superb exclusive adult titles that mean the console is still a must-own for me. Games like No More Heroes 1 & 2, MadWorld and Sin & Punishment 2 are all deep, adult games that completely whip the carpet out from under the feet of consumers. Allied with "childish" hardcore games like Mario Galaxy, Super Paper Mario, Twilight Princess and Brawl, Nintendo's console is still a valid choice for many gamers.

I accept that Nintendo aren't making the most intelligent moves in endearing themselves to the sort of people who frequent this forum, but they're really the ones who expanded the market and made gaming the market it is today.

I'll accept bad-mouthing of Nintendo as they are now, but certainly not of them as a company as a whole.

Sorry, this has turned into less of a friendly argument with you and more of a little vent on my feeling towards Nintendo and Nintendo-bashers at the moment.

They really kept it true to the original, I'm surprised. The graphics are ace.

I hope the game has some depth though.
