Woot, today is a good day for me, the very first game I have worked on was today announced =D

http://uk.xbox360.ign.com/articles/851/851844p1.html

At the moment I'm just a graduate artist and have been doing perhaps some of the "tea boy" jobs but have also had a ton of responsibility working with object placement on some of the other tracks.

So being all excited I thought I would say "OMG!!! WOOOOT" etc

if only the graphics were really that good lol.

also disney is apart of it???

The screen shots are in-game =) Silly video isn't. I'm surprised they released that video really but meh.

Yea the studio is owned by Disney. They basically give us money but ultimately from what I have seen so far leave us to our own devices. They seem to have liked what we have done so far so leave us alone.

Wow man congrats. I am jealous. I really want to get into the games industry...but I have a long road ahead. Oh well maybe one day I will achieve my dream of being a game designer and make a game to take over the world. Some day...

Damn!

That games looks friggen awesome. I go nuts for games like that. I have almost every MX or ATV game ever released for the PC. You are part of the team for the game? Sweet man, Congrats!!

If I had the money, i'd buy a PS3 just so I could play MotorStorm.

Can you elaborate on what the "tea boy" stuff is? Im about to graduate myself, and am curious as to what kind of grunt work the entry level newbies have to do.

Uv mapping i hear is something the senior artists love dumping on the new guys.

I imagine it's slightly different depending on the studio your with, but I'd like to know aswell. I'm 1/3 through my graduate course but people are already taking notice : D , so looks like I might land a job in the second year.

Cool stuff Stormy, those screens look f*cking sexual. Will be keeping an eye on this.

Little ingame video, just been released!

I also believe that a track that I worked on is getting shown at GDC =) I can't wait. Really want to see peoples reactions!

Also, I think "Tea Boy" was a bit silly. I have really been working on some interesting stuff, namely object placement at the moment. Which really involved placing down trees, bushes, trains, buildings etc. Its really good fun trying to create as intricate scene as possible and trying to create as many interesting views as possible. I'm just not doing quite as much modeling and texturing as I would like but, hay, thats the games industry for you!

Also prepare for late nights, i finished today at 9 because we have a track milestone tomorrow. Its is very hard work but really rewarding. Well I hope its rewarding, will have to see as more media comes out and when I see some sale figures!

AWESOME.

Looks like ExciteBike for the new generation! Which is by no means a bad thing.

Awesome dude! Cool stuff.

Anyways, I want to make it into the game industry too some day. Since I realized I have no talent as a 3d artist as my dream was... and thusly will keep it strictly to hobby, I figure my best shot is going through the route of being a code monkey.
