So I have this old, massive CRT screen, and I wanted to convert it into a TV for my kitchen. My cable box has outputs for RCA and S-video, and my monitor has inputs for VGA and DVI.

I've heard that such a conversion is impossible. Is this true?

Unfortunately they don't get much cheaper than that.

Ah well, thanks anyway. I'll probably just sell the monitor.

Damn thats expensive, try looking around any electronic shops i got mine for ?4.50 and it works fine.

^ I'm pretty sure that is to be used on a PC.

VGA signal is different than analog TV. You need a converter box. The reason people can use just a cable doing the reverse (PC->TV) is because the video card is capable of doing some conversion with the signal.
