i've heard that in my country you can launch a referendum if you get 2000 people to sign your petition!

So i thought "because our politicians are so corrupt, but the constitution allows referendums" why not make a referendum about

"Should the incomes of high politicians and other people in high places have their wages halved and invested into the community (repair the healthcare system,...)?"

I guarantee you that probably 2/3 of the country would say "yes" so votes are not a problem here, but would i even be allowed to launch such a referendum? Of course huge media coverage is a must here!

Anyway i'd be probably assasinated by puling such a stunt?!

It's just another proof of our wonderful democratic system!

now, that wouldn't work because of the Capitalists who argue that their money is their money and they are more important than the needs of society.

What you are suggesting is the best thing that could happen to your country, but people will despise you and call you a "Commie". :|

bastards they are.....

Well, i dout i'd be called commie by the majority because we were all commies once and life was better then, but the politicians surley would! although they keep forgetting that they once kissed our leadrs ass so they could have high places, and now of course they are the greatest anti-commie supporters...shitheadish hypocrates!!

i know it would fail, they would never approve such a thing, but it would be fun nontheless! i'd really want to hear their arguments against it

"philosophy": the only ones who would deserve to be politicians are the people who are willing to sacrifice their needs for the community (read: ALMOST noone)!

"practical example": i've had to wait 3-4 hours so that i could get my eye checked by a doctor because i got a chip of metal stuck into it (the procedure lasted around 5 min), i don't want to mention the people who have something more serious (70% of deaths are caused because of waiting times in our country), just ****ing absurd! and where do our politicians spend their money??! they bought a V.I.P. plane (costin millions of euros) so they can fly theire spoiled asses around the world doing stupid things!! of course not to mention the average pay...an average worker working 8 hours (sometimes even after hours) gets around 500 euros a month (dont know how much dollars) an average politician working the same hours gets around 3000 or 4000 euros some even around 5000 a month + various gifts, bonuses...! our doctors get around 1000 to max 2200 euros per month!! if you ask me doctors have more responsible jobs than those wanking politicians!

i know theres worst places in the world, but our politicians are presenting our country as advanced and growing...yeah right!! i'm hoping that afte 4 more years of school (university) i get a job that pays at least 800 EU per month! our entire school systems from kindergarten to uni lasts 18 years, by the time you done university youre 25! if you want to become a doctor add 3 more years! but that is only theoretical, you can be happy if you finish uny by 27 or 28!

If you're talking about the UK, then where do I sign?

Hehe...it's not UK sorry!

i'm from slovenia (EU member)...but it doesn't really matter we'll be gone in 10 years time with our current heading!

I tell you we and the whole Europe are in deep shit!!

5000 euros for a politician isn't a lot compared to other countries.
