putting non-music files on an MP3 player

sometime this weekend I'm going to completely wipe my HDD, unfortunately my CD-burner has been out of order for the last bit and theres some files I need to keep for me and my family (some text, photos, and other files).

I have a sony PSYC 512mb mp3 player and I was wondering if there was anyway I could put non music files on it while I wipe my computer and then put them back on?

if when you plug it in it shows up as a drive in my computer yes but if not go out buy a cd

you get over 700mb+ on a cd, and it'll be very slow to transfer to the player.

Zip up all your files, and then rename them to .mp3. And there you go. It would probably work. Then when you put it back on your computer just rename them to .zip.

Weird. Ok. Try this, it'll be awesome if it works.

Open the file in wordpad, copy the entire thing. Open up a music file in wordpad. At the very end of the music file write"STARTHERE", then paste the bytes from the other file.

Transfer it over, put it in wordpad, cut out the stuff after starthere, copy it to a new file, and try saving it again with original extension. Might not work but it would be neat if it does.
