This is awesome. Quake 4 comes with Quake 2 and it supports HD, Widescreen and has 2-Player co-op via split screen or system link. Friggin AWESOME!!!

16x16 textures at 720p widescreen, LOL. Now we can have high resolution low resolution textures!

Great news though. I never got to play Q2 and now is my chance. I love when developers put in good extras. It makes the game last longer and more enjoyable.

Heres to buying a 360 (too bad I hear Q4 isnt very good).

Here's to hearing right! Quake 4 does suck pretty bad and gets very boring very quickly. I'd rather play Quake 2 than Quake 4, but still, i'd rather play it on PC with a mouse and keyboard

I like them both. What HD resolution will the Xbox throw Quake 4 at? I'll be mildly impressed if the Xbox has HD resolution graphics that look better than a high-end PC. What did they do to Quake II that's different (other than the higher resolution display)? Quake II evolved was (I think - do correct me if I'm wrong) about as good as it could get on the original engine.

Quake 2 is F N awesome.
absolutely. I was playing it just the other day and its fun as hell while playing your favorite music. Custom soundtracks ftw.

heh, don't be surprized if you end up playing quake2 alot more.

Pff, most of the people who are going to be buying Quake IV either already have Quake II or are completely new to the series. If they're completely new they'll take one look at the dated Quake II graphics and decide to go and play one of their flashy new games with good graphics.

Quake II will not look good on a bigger screen! In fact back in the day the only thing that kept you from really noticing all of the horrible textures and jagged models was the fact that you were playing on a 15 inch screen.

great point. thats so true.

Its a shame they don't take games like doom and quake and re-do them with at least all new high rez textures. how much effort would that take? I'd buy that over the latest iD has released any day.
