Ugh, that's something I really hate. That troubles me. But I'm really excited to see the megatexture technology used, and generally the next version of Quake, especially when it's still made by ID with John Carmack's help.

Whew, just got back from my sister's wedding... had my friend reserve a key for me.

I could care less about the advertising, it's barely noticeable in BF2142, and it doesn't really affect the game at all if any.

You can easily download the client from another place, but the key is the thing you get when you sign up.

EDIT: I just saw something interesting when installing: The megatextures actually have their own format: Can you guess it? Yep! .mega!
