Question 4 u guys

Well as we all know hl2 and d3 are creeping up faster and faster. Just wondering what are you guys doing 2 prepare urself for it and how many of you guys are going completly insane because you cant wait.

For me I just bought a brand new computer wit the following:

AMD ATHLON 3200
1gb ddr ram
Radeon 9800 xt
Creative SoundBlaster 5.1 sound card(5 speakers and 1 subwoofer)

Its loaded up for me and my computer will be ready 2 days before Doom3 Not 2 mention im using my big screen plasma tv for my screen

Now for the other part im going completely insane waiting for these games. Ive been glued 2 this computer reading articles and articles, searching and searching for anything I can find. I cant even start a conversation without one of the 2 games coming up. Yes you all probaly think im crazy but I dont care cuz im a hard ass gamer. If I could take some pictures of my room id show you all the gaming stuff in it. Not one wall bare. Anyways ive talked enough so tell me what you guys are up 2.

For Doom3, I got 5.1 speakers, just ordered another 512 mb of ram yesterday, and bought myself the Doom Collector's Edition (despite still owning my original copies of the Doom games) just to refresh myself to the games. Already beat Ultimate Doom and am in the middle of Doom II. And by the way, the Doom series as whole definately stands the test of time. These games are still fantastic.

nothing, everything I've prepared for was half-life2 (hardware wise) which will be plenty for doom3 as well.

Just buying a 6800 GT to replace my "outdated" Ti4600. August 2nd I'll be going around looking to see where I could get Doom 3 on the 3rd.

Otherwise, trying to keep myself calm, cause there's not much else I can do.

Bah, forget about 5.1 systems, i just bought myself a new amp + speakers for 1200 bucks. RAW POWER!!

I think my compy will be pretty good another year or so (2400+, 512 PC3200 DUAL DDR, Radeon 9700).

I couldnt be the 800 because they didnt have it in and wouldnt be for awhile so I just went with the 9800. My dad was friends with the guy who sold me my computer so I could a pretty good deal off it. Not quite sure how much it is because I only paid for some of it and my rents(parents) paid the rest. I paid $1100 So it was quite a bit still but hell atleast I aint paying for it all.
