Ok this is my question see my graphics card supports DirectX 7,8, and 9 so does that mean if i download Direct X 9 i will automatically get the sexy graphics or does the sexyness depend on what my graphics card is capable of

**Not positive I am right, just a guess** Well u said ur graphics card is capable of it (supports it), same thing. Just dl it and then try it, if it dont work then go into options and change the game to use 7 or 8.

ive already downloaded direct x 9 just need somethin to test it on reallt

DX9.0c is the latest DX,grab that one if you didn't already do so..and if your card supports DX9,then you will see improvements..at least AFAIK..

what is AFAIK? Will i get sexy water will i get the graphics on the sexy girl?

look...

dx9.0c is pretty much needed these days, but it'll depend on your gfx card's dx support as to how pretty it is.

if you told us what gfx card you have then we may be able to help you, otherwise, see above answer :P

sure it is
because u only get sexy water if your video card is capable of computing it. you will need dx9.0a installed to run halflife2 but you only get sexy effects if your video card can compute them.

so tell us what video card you have, and we can tell you how hl2 will look like on your pc.

oh ok but prepare for the worst i have an Intel(R) 82845G GL/GE/PE/GV graphics controller or somethin gay lick that

AFAIK - As Far as I Know

If you want to stress your card, run HL2, Doom III, Far Cry, Splinter Cell and check out the effects. Also, 3DMark05 is always a good toy to see what your card can do and how much it can handle. I think you can find that off futuremark.com. It will stress the performance of even the best cards in the market.

What exactly you get from DX9.0 games is a little harder to quantify. You get amazing lighting effects and reflections. DX 9.0 capable cards are able to use shaders to produce various effects such as the gleam of a light on a polished floor or the tide and sway of water trailing behind your air boat. Now they have shaders in DX 8.0 but the complexity of the shaders in 9.0 is the key. More complex shaders allow for more complex effects (ie more realistic).

I'd check out the following link for more info

But bear in mind that while you may have the capability in your card, it may just not be fast enough to deliver the frame rates.

Another simply important feature is trilinear and Anisotropic filtering.

http://graphics.tomshardware.com/graphic/20040603/index.html

With trilinear filtering your able to better blend textures at varying distances, resulting in a seamless surface. With bilinear you get bands of blurriness where textures meet at different distances from your point of view. Anisotropic filtering basically changes the sample size used for blending textures so that textures at different perspectives take into account more/less pixels from the texture map. This help prevent textures from becoming too washed out as they go off into the distance.

I may be misguided on some points here but look at the articles and they'll give you a fair understanding of what the differences are.

says:
Compatible with DirectX* 9.0, 8.x, and 7.x
Not all of the new features of DirectX 9.0 are supported

so youll end up most likely playing in dx8 or dx8.1 mode.
but dont expect decent framerates
200mhz gpu clock speed is pretty slow ...

this question could have been so easy answered if u have asked it the smart way ...

He has asked this before and we told him this card was worthless for gaming, I have no idea why he asked again, guess he didn't like our answer.
