Question about file configuration in folders

C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps are all the .gfc files supposed to be in this folder, because thats where they all are for me

ie: half life 2 content.gfc sourcematerials.gfc sourcemodels.gfc

Yep, thats where mine are anyway.

I'm using the retail 5cd version, not the pre-load/downloaded version, it "may" be different for the guys who preloaded, i have no idea.
