question about pc

ok, im an idiot lmao i posted this in the wrong forum. Like i said im new lol but ill get used to it. ok heres the scoop- when i heard about HL2 last year i upgraded immediatly (big mistake). and now i need to know if it would be worth it to upgrade again or stick with the hardware i have now. If anyone can answer this i'd be more comfortable. My system specs are[ ati radeon 9700 pro 128mb, barton amd athlon 2500+, 1gb pc3200 ddr400 ram, creative labs sound blaster audigy2 z5, and an nforce2 chipset mobo] If anyone has any opinions just post away. i have a monitor that has 75hz refresh and goes up to 1600 1200. Oh and tell me if you know or can guess if i will be able to run HL2 on low medium or high settings im curious. thanx

you can actually probably get pretty decenct perfomance out of that system, but im sure others wil say you ahve to get the best of the best.. but it is up to you if you want to upgrade or not

You will run HL2 pretty much maxed out at 1024 resolution. You may even have enough performance to enable AF.

ok cool but i dont know i was thinking about getting a radeon x800 xt. think that would make a big enough difference to upgrade or not?
