if a RAID 4 WD raptors will i get the storage of 1 but the perfomance of 4 cause i thinking of raiding 4 raptors!!!!
and getting an anthlon 3500+

will i get 4 times the perfomane but only 1 hard drives size
EX if a get 4 36.7 raptors x 4 in raid iwill get 4 times the perfomance but only x 1 capacity?????

Acutally, having over 2 drives in a RAID array slows performance....

if you use raid0 stripping only then you will get 4x more performance i gess

if you use raid0+1 then you will get 2x 36gb i think
or 3x 36gb depending on how you set it up

i think best is raid0 but you might also try raid0+1 unless your raid does't support raid0+1

4 drives in a RAID array is pointless, would be better to have 2 sets of 2 drive arrays, trust me...

or just use RAID 5+0 I think it is, but that is usually used in servers.... like evreyone else is saying, more than 2 in an array will s;ow perofrmance, Im just running both my HDD's in RAID and I have 240gbs I just use the Data Capacity, Raid.. lol not sure of the numbers, but workds great, RAID is best with 3 hdd's if you're going t obackuip, use 120 gbs on all 3 then all them all backed up so if one hdd dies then you can back it up with the last 2 remeaining HDD's

RAID 0 barely gives more than 5% of a speed boost and even then only in some cases.... not worth the hassle...

And yes any more will actually decrease performance.
