question about scripted events?

I have a question, first off if you don;t understand please let me know so i can correct myself. In the traptown video, after Gordon shoots the rope or whatever to let the swinging payload fall, to acheive something like this will you have to define that after shooting the rope the payload will fall, or will the physics just figure it out. this may be in the wrong forum, so mods move so accordingly.

its just gravity rite ? gravity , force and other stuff u have to make sure ur forces are balnced so something happens when there is an im balance.

this is a mapping issue, not a coding issue. havok will handle it all, no scripting necassary.
