question re- Condition Zero

Because no one cares about CZ, it blows. Graphics are carbon-dated back to 1983, gameplay blows as well. Everything blows. CZ should've been discarded before it even came up as an idea.

Actually, everyone who plays CS hardcore likes the new CZ.

They hated Ritual's work, for whatever reason, but praised the bot match "tony hawk style" gameplay, from what I've seen. I know alot of people who say they're going to buy it now because it's not going to be a "mediocre", mission based first person shooter.

lol, CZ has multiplayer, but it's just CS 1.6 with simple shadows and "Detail Textures", plus they redid all the basic set of maps (reskinned, remodeled, etc), but they won't be compatible with normal dust/etc

No new weapon/player models.. I was looking forward to them =(

I hate it for plenty of reasons, allow me to rant a bit if you don't mind:

1) graphics are awful, textures are horrible, the trees in the colombian jungle remind me of this old game I had on my 486 called Zombie Island or something.
2) it doesn't play like cs, it plays like a goofy HL mod coded by genetically engineered monkeys.
3) there is no plot whatsoever, no storyline at all: when you're done with one mission, screen goes black and bam you're already somewhere in russia with no briefing.
4) the AI is so bad you could die laughing.

That's the jist of it.

And this crap is supposed to compete with MP2 and CoD?

Para, the game is not out yet, so how do you know it sucks so bad? You must have downloaded an illegal copy, and it proly wasnt the gold version. As for the storyline, or lack there of, they tried to do that the devs said. Because it was counter strike, instead of character development they just wanted you to play and have fun with the new gadets n such. I mean if you like CS you will like this game more, its what there plus a single player campaign and batter gfx. Thats all there is to it.

I was wondering what the deal was with CZ. I too remeber watching a kickass video with nice graphics, cool sequences and a rocket launcher.

It appears from reading various posts that CZ is now little more than a glorified map pack with bots.

Is CZ backwards compatible with cs1.6? Is this little more than cs1.7?
What will the retail price be for it? I would be loathed to pay a full game price for an expansion pack.

What is currently the definitive source for info about Condition Zero?

Oh yes, and I think HL2 is going to be very very good.

I like CS, I play CS almost every other day. But this game isn't even worth playing, it's the biggest piece of sh!t I've seen in years.

i just don't understand why CS generally gets hated on so much now... i mean if ur bored of it, or don't like the current version.. whatever.. meaning u don't like it, so why bother taking the time to talk about it?

i've run into pple that blame CS for the massive cheating thats been going on in HL mods.. but ya know.. the game isn't the one that creates these cheats/hacks.. the pple do.. so in this case the blame is misplaced and these pple are too thick headed to understand that.

as for CZ, there are CS lovers out there who will buy it.. even tho the general concensus on this forum is that CZ will suck.. yes folks theres pple outside the world of this forum that play CS and are looking forward to CZ..

Yeah, I dunno why people insist on bashing CS, I guess it's because they think CS is too trendy, or something.. personally, I love it, been playing it since I got HL (it's the reason I bought HL, but HL was a great perk, SP was fun)

I doubt HL would be where it was today (not saying it wouldn't have done well, or couldn't, but it wouldn't be as popular) without CS
