How much does everyone think they know about the world?

How come is it, right after World War II ... the World sulked into some kind of Social depression?

Sure, we can blaim it on anyone -- or any one -- however, what if all of the worlds problems was being caused by our World Leaders ... ? ... like, all of them?

I dunno -- its just been a partisan thought on my mind; how we can suddenly go from what was possibly peace or a "learned from" war, then to this.

Or is this just another part of humanity awakening? Although sick and possibly morbid -- that these tortures, beheadings, wars, deaths, etc. could possibly be bringing to bear a whole new growing evolution within the states of our minds, and our genes?

What if what killed the Dinosaurs, was'nt an asteroid -- but a sickness ... something in the blood? 28 days later? Perhaps. But rage, is all the rage today.

What do you guys think?

28 Days later not that a far off possibility?

Think of the beginning to the movie ... remember what happened ... and what became.

Well we've always said we'll be the seeds of our own undoing. Though I don't think it's anything new, look back through history and you'll see we've always been idiots. Now we've just got lot's of nice hi-tech weaponary, so the hi-techs can easily blow a lot of stuff up, and the low-tech guys have to resort to dramatic methods to get their points across - beheadings being an example.

Rage has always been the rage.

I think datamining and the collsuion between private industry and the govt. will lead to the end of liberty and personal freedoms on a global scale.

But don't you support a government which is doing exactly that, like giving contracts to companies that the administration has worked for, and then the ensuing loss of freedoms with the patriot act.

the rise of the Military-Industrial Complex is to blame ..for everything!!! :E

I blame human stupidity for everything. It's a blanket term and it's about as precise as a drunken, eyeless hobo with a siege catapult, but it sums up my feelings pretty accurately.

Scapegoatism, compensation culture, yobbish behaviour, and the habit of the ignorant to decide that they're not ignorant and put themselves in a postion that makes their idiocy all too apparent... I blame them all for the world's current position.

The problem with society is that there're other people in it.

I support the party that I believe supports the most personal freedoms, and the party that best supports the 10 freedoms guaranteed us in the bill of rights.

The left can claim they are for personal freedom all they want, I am not blind to their freedoms being the ones which they want me to enjoy, I'd rather choose the freedoms that I'd like to enjoy.

There is no move on the part of the left to curb datamining, and the right sees the opportunity to make $$$$ doing it and that leaves the freedom seeking voter stuck in the middle divided over issues like gun control, taxes and abortion.

The 2 party system is a sham that allows us to be controlled, and until we can buck the billionares that control the issues which divide us we will continue to be divided and conquered by the special interests that do not care about the issues they divide us with. We need choices that will unite us on the issues we can unite on, and when we are united we should discuss the issues which divide us and reach a compromise on them. This will never happen under our current system, billions would be lost by Korporations, international and domestic, things like cars fueled by stuff other than petroleum would be available, medicine would be available to all, fear of being sued for ridiculous reasons would not exist, etc......

You're right, the two-party system is bad for democracy. As it is today, only very rich people can start parties.

It's actually only very recently that it's become pretty well accepted that the dinos were killed in a major planetary impact that caused worldwide devastation and blotted out the sun. Basically, in the strata, we find dino fossils... then a huge preponderance of iridium (which is rare on Earth, but common in asteriods and meteors), and then no dinos ever again. Also, right about that time there is an unbelievably HUGE crater: litterally more than a hundred MILES across, found (it's actually around the gulf of mexico, and if you can imagine it, it way in some way be what shaped that gulf). Whatever caused that crater impact would have been so big, so devastating, as to have rocked the entire planet, thrown up so much dust and so many tidal waves, that we can barely imagine what it would have been like. Nothing we've EVER seen in human history could compare: not even our piddling nuclear weapons.

It was questioning what we know that actually got people convinced that it was a major asteroid or comet strike.

even they have a hard time. one thing both parties elite are in agreement with is no third party voice, that is why the repubs tried to stifle H. Ross Perot and the dems trying to muzzle Nader in 2000 and 04. It's terrible that more of the country doesn't see what's happening.........

i don't know how they can't when no matter who is in office basically nothing changes... i guess we're just to wrapped up in and divided on the partisan differences to see that we're getting screwed

Sings: What always makes you think you're right and always makes you want to fight? Religion! Religion!!

I like what you've said in this post. I'd like to know where you got your ideas. Is there a book or something I could read? Thanks.

not that I'm aware of, it kinda sums up how I feel and the let downs I've experienced within our political process. It really sucks when you consider the trivial lines on which we're divided, then look beneath the surface of them and find the commonality of core issues many of us share.......

oh well what are ya gonna do? it's not like divide and conquer is a new concept, as long as we continue to accept the 2 choices of solid sh!t or runny sh!t, in the end with all of the rhetoric, squabling, millions spent on turd pagents, and self congratulatory festivities all we'll get is sh!t.

Bravo...well said Scoobnfl.
I would like to see a one party system that believes in the 10th Amendment of the US Consitution: "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."

I think his ideals are based on certain truths. These truths are not made, but are discovered, and yes there are plenty of books that can lead you in the right direction.

I would say it was the mass polerization of society that resulted from the beginning of the cold war.
