i asked my dad what PS i had in the computer and he said it was 110watts... i thought this was a minimal for sys func? is it possable to make a 6800 run on a 110 cause im runnin a FX 5200 on a 110

he's probably talking about voltage - from the wall outlet.

This is not directed at you, but it is meant for all these people who have questions about power supplies. Unless you built your own computer recently or bought your computer through a company like alienware, you will need to upgrade your PSU. So if you have a dell, HP, compaq, etc, you will need to buy a new power supply unit. If you don't know what your PSU is, you probably need to buy a new one. Most computers that you buy today have a 230W PSU in it. That is a far cry from the 480W recommend for the 6800 Ultra.

... 480 is recommended but what is REQUIRED for all normal sys func?

TrinityXero. Upgrade your PSU if you want a 6800.
Aight... ile see if i can get some $ for a new PSU.. ps i think its my browser cause dat link still dun work

If the 6800 ultra draws a max of about 110 or so watts, it won't be able to power the CPU and other devices (HD, mobo, cd-rom, etc), so you will need a much bigger PSU.

ile shoot for a 300-400 PSU ne ways... b/s i really need to upgrade soon

And try to avoid non-branded ones, Get one line an enermax or an antec one, they are good quality psus.

Go for 400+ W PSU, since a 300W won't really handle a 6800.

Yeah that comrade said. You would be losing performance instead of gaining ;(

о'кейо ii1 идет проверка из новой коробки силы

ile see if i can builk out some cash by sweet talkin my moomma its worked for the last 7 years i think itl work again ^^

For a quick info on your PSU read the sticker (if you have one you can find!) near the 110 VAC power cable/fan outlet, look for something that says "DC Output MAX 250W"
or something that sounds remotely close, anything that says AC is on the input side of the PSU from the wall / the ouput that powers all the items in your PC is DC.

as for the future i would get nothing less then 400watts , MAKE SURE YOU GET ONE THAT ACTUALLY HAS THAT KIND OF OUTPUT. there are MANY mfgrs thAT cLAIM
outragous things like 500watts for $35. dont be fooled, do some reading first!

also bear in mind the SIZE / a new biggie may not even FIT!
if your PC is a name brand may also have a special / proprietary PSU that may not be upgradeable! may want to check with the mfg.
