K, this is the first time I noticed this but on the episode "Questionabal Ethics", the labs seem to be a bunch of holding cells for the aliens. Like they captured them when they first explored Xen (i.e., the survey team explained in Bshift). Maybe they were doing harsh experiments on them (hence the name for the episode). And maybe this is why the Xen enemies were hostile towards humans?. Anyway, thats sorta my theory...

Aye man that was the general Vibe.Have you gotten to Xen?Cause when you do you see a bunch of dead Sci's in HEV suits. It would appear(But never outright told) that The Lambda complex had been running expieriments there and captureing specimens.Whether or not Gordans Expieriment was the final straw or they used it to get through I dont know.

Also Congrats on the 100th post.

Excuse me? Never outright told? How about: "This is the supply depot for the first survey team to Xen. They collected some excellent specimens...before they started being collected themselves."

As far as I can tell the experiments in Xen went on until Nihilanth and his minions cottoned on and closed the portals forever. Some years later, Gordon Freeman is going to work...but little does he know that in a few hours he will be running from the effects of a catastrophic re-opening.

Oh: It's called 'Questionable Ethics' because the ethics of keeping aliens in tanks and doing experiments, especially fi they are intelligent, are questionable! :D

I had always thought it was called Questionable Ethics because passing the level included the need to break all safety regulations in having a laser blow through a wall. Not to mention unsafe weapons testing. Ah well, your explanation's a bit better ;)

It just makes me wonder what things would have been like if the first encounters between the species had been on more friendly terms...

It's called questionable ethics because of those rooms where you push a button and everyone in the gets gibbed. I always make the barneys and soldiers go in there
