Questions about Half Life [1] source.

Is this now available? And if so, is there a way of buying it without using Steam (as a CD or DVD)? I'm on slow dialup.

On the Steam site it mentions that the game is a "digitally remastered" version of the original Half Life. Does this mean it uses the Havoc physics engine used in HL2?

Everyone is saying HL source is exactly like HL1, very little changed. Nobody is suggesting getting it. And I think the only option is through steam.
