So, I've finally looked into setting up a wireless network at home. I have cable internet and two computers that will be networked together. Here are the products I've decided on. Please tell me if these products will give me what I want.
Router
Here are the wireless cards.

I also have a question; I live in a big house and I'm worried that the signal may not reach both computers. The router will be in the upstairs room at the left end of the house and the furthest computer will be on the other end of the house. It will have to move through about 6 walls. Are these signals strong enough to get through all that material? Also, do I need two wireless cards if one of the computers will be right near the router. Thanks for your assistance.

depends on what the walls are made of, and also what electrical devices are in between. also cordless phones do tend to disrupt signal when in use. my suggestion is to try them out and if they dont work, return them and go for a MIMO router and card.

That router i'm looking at; will it work with cable internet because it said that it was for broadband.

broadband is such a general word and yes it will work with a cable modem

So, are these things all the stuff I need for networking? BTW I'm getting two cards.

Ok, I got my wireless network set up. Unfortunantly, the computer that needed the internet the most has a signal that is very low and is very slow. I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to amplify the signal. BTW the products I bought are on the first post. Thanks

You could try to tilt the antennas.

Otherwise there are other things you could buy to get you a better signal.
TNC antennas that are more powerful than what you have now. They go on the Wireless Router
A repeater to put inbetween the wireless router and your PC.
There are upgrade antennas for PC cards but I don't recommend them. Always improve the source first! (Wireless Router)
There might be other products that are compatible with your Linksys stuff made by different brands. (They probably cost a lot less)

Otherwise get a Linksys MIMO wireless router. They go farther and cost more. =p

ATTENTION: LINKSYS WRT54G IS A PIECE OF SHIT.

Get rid of it now before it destroys your life.
