Quick question

Is there any way to jump on the testing bandwagon?
If I went out and bought condition zero, would I be able to download cs:s and begin testing (am I missing any other steps)? Or is the testing portion closed?

Also, is steam going to be incorporated into the released versions, as I have discovered plenty of bugs with that.

Steam is now integrated and required for all Valve titles, including the old ones.

If you bought Condition Zero you would definitely be allowed to download and play CS:Source, but the BETA test is likely to be over soon so it may not be worth it.

In my opinion CZ is a much better game than standard CS anyway.

Appreciate the quick and informative response. (Can be hard to find on most forums)

Well, seeing as I've been playing CS since the beta1 days. (stopped for a year and a half, when the cheating got out of hand and was consuming all my free time to get any satisfaction)
I figure I'll be back into it. I'll run out and buy CZ and immediately download cs:s. Dying to see just how it runs on my system, and more importantly learn what the minimum hardware I will need to upgrade.

Yeah, we try and make this place as friendly and helpful as possible I like to think that's one of the reasons we have so many members.

Your CS history sounds the same as mine. Played since BETA 1 in 1999 all the way up until BETA 6 when the cheating started to get really bad and then I actually got back into it because of CZ, but even moreso now I have CS:S It's brilliant.

What's your system spec?

i gotta hand it to you staff members, you do your jobs pretty well lol.

cz is better than cs, but dont expect to be able to go back to cs once you've played cs:s for a while. i certainly couldnt. and the video stress test to find your fps is also a nice touch :E

CS:S i am getting my ass kicked simply because of slow hardware...but supposedly my x800xtpe ships today from pcconnection, but after being screwed 3 times from 3 companies, i am not optimistic.

sure hl2 is playable with a gf3 etc etc etc but 130fps on an mx420????!!!! hmmm.

anyway Big WalnutZ: you should have NO probs running hl2 decently/ my specs (as below) are running video stress test on cs:s beta at 65-75 fps, AF off and 4xAA at 1024. thy x800 is the most powerful video card series KNOWN TO MAN...and 1 gig of ram???? you're set m8.

im getting 512 RAM on thursday so i should be set too, as the only slow downs i have on any game now is loading times in game and loading screens.

dont buy cz to play the cs:s beta. CZ sucks and so does cs:s. when u buy hl2 ull get cs:s free. trust me its not worth it.

Just wanted to say thanks again for helpful info, and quick responses.
Went out and picked up a copy of CZ and immediately downloaded cs:s.
Very happy with the results. I don't mind spending the money for it.
