Quick Ram question

If i have 2 sticks of 512 ddr400 RAM with a CAS rating of 3 (poos) and add another different brand with a CAS rating of 2.5 what will it do?
Danger, Danger? or will it just run at 3? How does it work?

Methinks ram always just runs at the speed of the the slowest stick.
But are your first 2 sticks in dual channel? cuz if you're putting in a 3rd stick of 512mb you wont be able to run dual channel - has to be multiples of 2.

Yeah i believe RAM just defaults to the slowest speed you have. Ram speeds confuse me tho, like is there really that big of a difference in gameplay between 2700 and 3200 RAM?

nah no dual channel- its just straight ddr400.
