Racial map of every city in america

Hmm, the predominately African American section of my town was represented by a single green dot.

I compared my hometown to where I'm living now, and it looks like a lot of different groups are represented, but a lot more segregated here in Dallas. Big surprise. I'm actually amazed by how much more densely populated this place is, by comparison.

there's a lot of segregated communities in america

–noun
1. the act or practice of segregating.
2. the state or condition of being segregated: the segregation of private clubs.
3. something segregated.

They aren't being forced to live there by law. Perhaps they are forced to by economic status, but that is not segregation de jure. There are also reasons involving family and social circumstances that influence decision-making.

I would be willing to hedge a bet that the Indians who move to Canada tend to congregate as well.

^Wow. Pittsburgh is pretty bad, but not quite that extreme. And we actually have more Hispanics interspersed around than I would've thought.

And I just now discovered that my neighborhood in Houston is predominantly Hispanic. I didn't even know, although I guess I never really walk around and look at my neighbors.

[edit]

vvvvv Holy crap Chicago's is insane. And also very rectangular.

Fits general assumptions about the city. Red square is where I live (at the center of the culture cluster****).

Eejit: Constant Critic of Countries That Matter More Than His! See? I can play that game, too! Ad hominem is a shitty way to discount someone's assertions.

I point out the fallacies of critics, which on any given internet site number beyond counting. It's obvious what Stern is trying to do here: imply the US is somehow intentionally segregating minorities. I'd be willing to bet similar patterns show up in Northern Ireland when it comes to Catholic vs. Protestant neighborhoods. People will always group together, whether forced to or not, with those similar to them.

There is, however, no data forthcoming from Canada or Northern Ireland census bureaus. Therefore, no precise indication of any 'segregated' communities is available.

Actually I was just pointing out a pattern of behaviour. An unrelenting, predictable and tedious pattern.

Indeed, but less remarked on or derided.

Oh god, my tract!

How utterly bizarre.... hovering around Dallas I managed to find Census Tract 1... I then moved around way to the Northeast United states and found Census Tract 2.

I have talents!

Are you trying to make a point about something?

? ...that there's a lot of segregated communities in america?

hahah you're a loon. no, YOU'RE implying the US is somehow segregating minorities albeit you do it through a phony proxy. RACIST!

I'm willing to bet you wont understand that last sentence at all. just like you didnt understand my first sentence in this thread

the biggest tragedy of this is that the people who are on topic, and who derive the exact same conclusion as I did and even expand on it, are completely ignored and shouted down by people like maestro and unozero. members like maestro and unozero poison every single thread that even remotely says anything about america that doesnt jibe with their narrow pov. you guys consistantly thread shit and it's getting tiresome. this is why we cant have nice things

Oh yes, because you are a paragon of impartiality whose every post is devoid of connotations based on his previous statements!

Please.

Ad hominem does not actually have any merit. I generally avoid it, though I see no such courtesy from most internet users. Also, if you could provide examples where I have 'shit on a thread,' I would be absolutely titillated!

newsflash: in the usa black people has more percentage of havinglow income and being lower class in general even after the civil rights movement

next,do lot of people in the usa have guns? more at 11

still I dont see how this is "segregated"

The UK has its minorities segregated aswell. People just like to stick with their own sort, we all have an instinctual tribal mentality to a degree.
