Kazunori Yamauchi, Gran Turismo's project head, spoke to German publication derStandard (courtesy of MCV), where he alluded to a possible PC iteration of the popular racing franchise, "It is very very unlikely that GT will come out on another console. But perhaps it may come out on the PC." (Translation assisted by Freetranslations.com)

Yamauchi believes releasing Gran Turismo on the PC will help promote and distribute the game in the Chinese market, a market he seems eager to capture. This notion is interesting as the Chinese market is known for its rampant piracy.

This is like, one of the best series on PS3, why a China only PC version?

That's a major IF, and I have a feeling it won't happen. I mean, this is assuming that the guys at Polyphony finish both GT5 and one designed for PSP will have time to do this rather than start immediate work on GT6.

Odds are, IF it does happen, it'll be given to some outside company and they'll deliver a shoddy PC port (e.g. MGS, DMC3, RE4, etc.)

This would be pretty awesome if it happened. Someone would have to make a mod to add vehicle damage though!

Vehicle damage is under development for the PS3 version.
