Radeon 9600 Pro issues

I wanted to see if anyone else was having these problems. I've got an ATI radeon 9600 pro and it works well for the most part. But, ever 10 mins to half an hour the screen will fade the return to normal very quickly, also I cannot play any games in AGP 8X without them freezing. Any advice?

oh yeah, im using catalyst 3.7 drivers too

350 watts, i can play games for as long as i want on 4X too, the screen just fades every once in a while

Try playing around with the settings in the ATI control panel (fast writes, etc.)...And leave the video card at AGP4X in that case, the difference between it and 8X is extremely minimal.

Yeam most ATI cards don't like 8x agp it seems. You might have a loose connection with your monitor cable, try a new one.

My 9600pro works w/AGP 8x just fine. Your card might be bad.

My card works perfect in 8x too (9700Pro, not a 9600Pro). This is most likely a mobo/gcard conflict in the hardware... What's the rest of the specs?

Well not a hardware problem because I have the same mobo. It must be the card.

ATI cards now need alot of juice to run. Sounds like your 350 watts PSU is not enough. I bet you've got quite a few other things connected to the mobo draining power. In this day and age you really need 400 -450w min

The 9600pro doesn´t need a powerful PSU.

The problem seems to be your mobo, i have heard that the kt400 chipset has problem with agp8x. Not alla have, but some.

try another powersupply.... i think u have a generic one.... 350watts mean nothing if its a crappy no-name brand... if not... it could be ur card or mobo.
