Radeon 9800 pro issue

Hi!
When i start up HL2 i get a message to update my driver from
6.14.10.6414 to the latest ATI driver. When i do this HL2 looks even worse, and flickers on every setting.
Any suggestions? Please

I got Radeon 9800 pro and the latest drivers and it works perfektly..so maybe it has to do with something else..

Try altering your Direct X settings in the HL2 advanced video settings.
