hi all,
I installed Radlinker and was looking at my card's speeds, and the core is at 370 while the memory is 335.50. Is it just me or are those weird numbers?
Also, are there any really decent Source console commands which improve performance? There are so many I hate to go through them all.. at the moment I use r_3dsky (single player so no cheating there), r_fastzreject and don't notice that much of a difference. Having said that, HL2 runs pretty nicely on my machine as it is.
Also, using mat_show_texture_mem_usage (or whatever the command is) I notice that at any one time there's never more than about 20mb of textures on show. Now this may be really stupid, but what are the rest of my card's 108mb of vram doing? I guess loads of textures have to be loaded in which will fill it up - so what's the average texture load when textures are set to medium, for a map in HL2?
I'm just asking all these questions cos I'm interested.
Cheers,
Laurence
