Radeon VS Nvidia

OK i want to see post and comments about each graphics card lets have posts which grahpics card would you choose Radeon or Nividia?

I have never owned an nVidia card. ATI cards are generally priced better, so that's what I buy.

Nothing against Nvidia but I also would perfer ATI.

ive had better luck with ATI, and i prefer them. You cant go wrong with any of them.

All of my friend have ATI so I had to get an ATI, plus the 9800 series is getting cheap and it's gonna last still a while.

Basically its like this:

ATI 9800 versus Nvidia FX 5900
The ATI 9800 is much better at games with complex DX9 shaders with more pipelines (8 vs 4), and would be the better buy here. However for $60 more you can get the Nvidia 6800 128mb, which is much better than both of these cards.

ATI X800PRO versus Nvidia 6800GT
The Nvidia 6800GT is faster with more pipelines (16 vs 12) in both DX9 & OpenGL, has Shader Model 3.0 support for best performance in future games (including future HL2 & FarCry engine games), OpenEXR-based HDR Lighting for the best HDR in future games (farcry 1.3 patch supports this), best OpenGL implementation, 32x0 support, etc. Check out the Doom3 benchmarks for examplem the $399 Nvidia 6800GT beats the $499 ATI x800xtpe:

So basically its like this in general in terms of performance:

Nvidia 5900XT/U < ATI 9800PRO/XT < Nvidia 6800 128mb < ATI X800PRO < Nvidia 6800GT < ATI X800XTPE = Nvidia 6800 Ultra

Nvidia has more features which kinda tips the scale in their favor.

Between the Radeon 9800 and the GeForce FX then i say ATi wins hands down since the FX was all about features and the speed was jus forgotten. However i perfer the Gefore 6800s over the X800s. I own a 6800 Ultra

the FX series' architecture is rubbish at dx9, they just roll over and die. running dx9 games in dx8 makes a HUGE performance increase, but it looks like a dog's breakfast . i personally went for my 9800pro as i didnt want to spend that much, and what a difference compared to my 5700 ultra i had before.

lol just realised, how many more forums are we gonna have posted for nvidia vs ati...there should be an official thread...hint hint admins :E
