Rain from the sky model (plus other work)

Some of you might have seen some of my work in the "computer keyboard render" but here is something i want as a separate.

I got the idea of creating a close up of rain drops coming down from a sky when i was riding the school bus and it was raining. I am pleased with the results but there is many errors and things i did wrong and things i could to better. The realistic level is very LOW...rain drops doesnt look like that...at all. I tried to make it stylish, litte unrealistic.

I have another verison were the drops have neon glow emitted from within, so it look spacis alienish (lol) but i have problems rendering it, whenever i render it the glow doenst appear (using 3Dsmax Video post, i render it via the Video post)

I really like the rain. It would be nice to see some ripples as it lands in a puddle or something in another picture, but all the same, I think it's very cool.

How did you go about making it?

Thanks for the comment, i might do another one were it lands in a puddle, good idea!

I made it all in 3DsMax 8, EVERYTHING, nothing photoshoped.

I might do a step by step tutorial when i get the time.

I like the rain picture. The color textures are kind of funky on it, but I think its pretty cool.

As far as your Manga thing, looks alright... but I can't judge it since i'm not into anime/manga stuff. The top piece of hair/head thats missing though looks kinda weird. hehe.
