RAM is confusing me

Hi, I want more RAM except everything is sooo confusing. I asked my Dad about it but he doesnt know mich about this either. Can somone please explain how i know what sort of RAM will work with my current RAM and how i can install it. Just so u know, i've got 2 128mb RAM things in my computer already an 2 spaces left( i think). thanks.

most likely u have 2 ddr ram slots and 2 sdr ram slots ddr is better and u need to find out the speed of the ram open ur case and check to c if the sticker on the ram says anything

find your motherboard manual and it will tell you.

if you don't have it, start looking on the manufactures website

Do you have an HP, Dell or Compaq? What brand and model is your machine? Could look up the memory for you if you had the Brand/Series and model number.

Custom build? Just get the manual out for the motherboard. Could look it up that way too.

If neither of those will do, check if there is a sticker on the Memory itself and tell us what it says. Look for a PC number, like PC100/ PC2700 etc.

No, I think what you need to do is buy 1GB of DDR2 PC4200 RAM and give it to me, then I will test it for you indefinitely... j/k, anyways, hopefully you figured it out? You haven't been back. (2GB is always better than 1...)
