I get paid in about a week (yay for me), however I'm stuck as to which kind of ram I would like.

I already have PC2100 (266MHz) 512Mb, but that struggles to run background programs (Norton Antivirus) and causes some programs to take long to load. I was definetally going to get 1Gb or Ram (As I would like to rid of some problems with running multiple programs in the background), but heres the major question.

Would higher frequencies (PC3200: 400MHz) make any difference to the projected time or speed programs get executed.

And heres another question, what is your CPU and Ram and how fast does HL2 load (The holy grail of questions)

GeIL Value 1gig Dual Channel PC3200 ownz. Loads HL2 on the fly :)

Yes PC3200 (400Mhz) ram would make a difference. It is much quicker than the PC2100 Ram you have right now. But now the question lies in "Does your CPU support it?" If your front side bus is 400 Mhz than your ok . And to answer your second question, I have 1GB Kingston HyperX PC 3200 and a AMD Athlon XP 2800+ but my ram is only running at 333Mhz because my cpu doesnt support 400Mhz :(. It loads quickly and really cuts the loading time in half if your going from 512mb.

On a side note, I have 1X512 Kingston HyperX and 2X256mb Elixer (Non-brand) PC3200 ram and am having some slight stability problems, so please send me a PM if you can help me anyway, Thanks.
